A look ahead to Friday's new releases.
Welcome to Heads-up, VideoGamer.com's weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you'll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Tuesday we'll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday's post. Time to splash the cash.
Recommendation of the Week: Rock Band, PS3, Wii and PS2
Rock Band arrived in Europe for the Xbox 360 back in May, which we awarded an impressive 9/10. PS3, PS2 and Wii gamers have been waiting patiently for their chance to get their hands on Harmonix's wondrous band game, and now they can. The good news is that EA and MTV have also cut the price of the instrument set that's pretty much essential if you want to experience the game properly. The kit containing a guitar, microphone and drum kit will set you back £109.99, £30 less than it cost on release back in May. With the game and an extra guitar added to the mix it's still a lot to spend, but well worth it if you're likely to rock until the early hours with friends.
Also out this week
TNA Impact!, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PS2: The wrestling genre has felt stale for a while now, with the WWE series having the marketplace all to itself. This is about to change with the release of Midway's TNA Impact! on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PS2. We haven't got our hands on the final game yet, but based on what we've played over the last year it looks as though WWE will finally have a reason to up its game.
