Sony: 'really proud of LBP and Resistance 2'

Believes both titles 'showcase why this is a great time to own a PlayStation 3'.

Following news that LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2 received ELSPA sales awards in December, Gold and Silver respectively, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has stated "it's always an honour to receive awards" for its products.

A Silver sales award is in recognition of 100,000 units sold in the UK, while Gold represents 200,000 units sold. It's believed that LittleBigPlanet is likely to enter Platinum status (300,000 units) soon.

In an official statement to VideoGamer.com Sony added: "Next to those [awards] chosen by our consumers, we love the ones that actually relate to the sales success of the titles concerned. We are really proud of both LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2."

The statement concluded: "... we think that they showcase why this is a great time to own a PlayStation 3."

I really like LBP and wish it every success. It can annoy sometimes but it's undoubtedly one of the most innovative and inventive games in years. Resistance 2 is great too, although I haven't had a chance to give the multiplayer a proper try.
