Insomniac Games reveals its sci-fi FPS sequel will be released around the same time as Gears of War 2.
Hidden away at the bottom of an Insomniac Games press release concerning its 'Nocturnal Initiative', the highly regarded developer has confirmed a release date for Resistance 2, the sequel to the PlayStation 3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man.
"Insomniac Games is currently developing Resistance 2, which will release this fall, exclusively for PlayStation 3," states the Insomniac press release.
VideoGamer.com is currently waiting to hear back from Sony regarding confirmation of the autumn/fall release date in Europe.

I was just thinking the same...it will have a big challenge since Gears 2 is released at the same time.

Yeah i think they both will be big sellers, but bare in mind they are each an exclusive to there console so there will be mixed views. Im lloking forward to see improvements on both games, esp gow2 because i expect better gameplay and story than the 1st, and rfom2 better have 2 player co op again

The co-operative campaign will support up to 8 players online or 2 player split screen with classes including a medic class, a heavy weapons class and a special ops class.

This sounds like a good seque. Not sure on the classes idea but it might be a good feature.
