Gears of War designer Cliff Bleszinski has offered to help Capcom "fix" Resident Evil.

"Hey, Capcom," Bleszinski tweeted. "Call me. We can fix Resident Evil. Together. :-)"

Capcom UK responded asking him to "bring Pizza".

Street Fighter IV's producer Yoshinori Ono also got involved, appearing to ask if Bleszinski would be interested in helping out with Street Fighter, too.

"I'm very glad to hear it!" Ono said, quoting Bleszinski's tweet. "Do u interested in Street Fighter? ;P"

Bleszinski left Epic Games last month after a 20-year tenure at the studio, saying that he needs a "much needed break" from the industry.

He worked as lead designer on the Gears of War series, whose characters also appeared as bonus characters in Capcom's third-person shooter Lost Planet 2.

Resident Evil 6 released earlier this month to divided critical opinion. It did, however, fare slightly better in the review stakes than March's Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

We know Bleszinski is having a bit of fun on Twitter, but which flagging franchise would you like to see the former Gears man get involved with?

I actually think is a good thing as, like it or not Resi is staying as a shooter and as it's a shooter I think Cliff working on it is good news.

I'm so glad you said "bite you in the ass", and not something else relating to a Jimmy Savile reference...

Oh come on, I wasn't the only one thinking of a distasteful alternative to the word 'bite'.

Cliff fixing it is like Savile fixing it.

It will bite you in the ass eventually.

Resident Evil lost its way when it dropped the survival aspect and replaced it with an all-guns blazing approach. If Cliff thinks more of his trademark gameplay will FIX it, he is wrong on a level that no other game designer ever managed before.

Put him on Resi.. It would be brilliant. Gears of Evil. Seriously, I think he would work wonders with the direction Capcom are clearly trying to push Resi in.

I actually think he could help the Lost Planet franchise. I'm not holding out much hope for LP3, but Cliffy has a proven track record for games that have shooting big guns and giant monsters.
