Capcom quiet on PS3 Resi 5 demo

PS3-owners seemingly left out of Resi 5 demo fun.

Capcom has this evening refused to comment on questions surrounding the possibility of a PS3 demo of massively anticipated action horror game Resident Evil 5.

A 360 demo was confirmed earlier today in a press release sent to media outlets. In the release, the Japanese company announced that a two-level playable demo is set to be made available "exclusively on Xbox 360 for one week beginning Monday, January 26", with no mention of a demo for the PS3.

Capcom's press release seems deliberately ambiguous. It could be read to mean the 360 demo will be available for one week and then it will be removed, or, more probably, that it will be available on 360 exclusively for one week and will then come to the PS3.

When contacted by VideoGamer.com, a Capcom representative said: "(The press release) has all the info that we can confirm at this time. We have nothing further to announce."

The news is sure to disappoint PS3-owners who are desperate to play what promises to be one of the best games of 2009. Resident Evil has in the past been a predominantly PlayStation-oriented franchise, making its name on Sony's debut console.

Resident Evil 5 is scheduled for release for Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 13, 2009.

According to Edge-Online, the demo will hit PS3 one week later, a Capcom rep confirmed.

you guys are idiots. the ps3 is doing sh*tty because its lackluster of games. and ps3 owners should be the last one talking about what looks good in the living room, that thing is ugly. you guys talk about being custumer first yet you bitch and moan when games go multi-systmes, losers. and that last brother/sister comment is just disturbing in the Freudian sense. if the ps3 was stronger it would have more/better games and be in first. but i guess sony fanboys like it up the ass and they love viruses from sony. have fun being in third while sony is bleeding more money."

we bitch and moan cause the quality of the game suffers. PS3 is a far better console then 360, yet the devs refuse to focus on it cause they can make more money with multi plat releases. They are choosing money over quality. Not somthing that Kojima productions was willing to do, thats why Metal Gear Solid 4 turned out to be one of the best games ever released. Sell outs like Crapcom are going to loose their fan base in the end cause their games will steadily start to decline. ive been waiting for this game for 4 years, and now im not so excited about it cause i can already tell they cared more about raking in the dough then making a kickass resident evil.

Gotta be honest, seven days 'aint all that long. I'm still trying to plough my way through all the holiday releases. I'm kinda grateful for the one week delay on PS3. Cheers. :-)

Xboxs 360 is like a little girl who is a spoil t brat that gets everything she wants when she wants first. Mean while PS3 is like her Big stronger Brother who gets less at Christmas etc and gas to wait intill after the younger attention seaking sister receives all her presents etc.

I cant wait for the game....nuff said. Who needs a demo, Capcom are one of the best games designers known to man and woman ;)

Plus like everyone else is saying il be on KZ2 most of the time. I think Capcom just feels sorry for M$ with KZ2 being out and all that LOL

play like a big boy? I think big boys have nice tv's and would rather have a ps3 than a 360 that doesnt even look good in there living room, plus why would you want to keep packing up your 3s**tty and sending it back to MS. Last time I checked the PS3 has better games for this year than the 360 so play like a big boy and get a ps3 then you can get the game the same day when it comes out along with god of war Killzone 2 drakes 2, Final fantacy and final fantacy versus, Gran turismo, Infamous, Heavy rain, ratchet, mlb the show, and so on the fact is Sony has more and better studios cant wait for team ico's new games as well and who knows what jaffe is doing fact is PS3 rocks you wil get one whoo hahaha

Jackdoe that is why I came to that conclusion. if it was merely had to do with it still being developed and was just 1 week behind then they wouldn't have used the word Exclusive & if it was just because it was a week behind in development then I would have nothing to complain about, but that's not the case now is it?

Sorry Karlius but it has to do with cash. How do I know this? The press release SPECIFICALLY MENTIONS THAT THE DEMO IS A 360 EXCLUSIVE for a week. If it was merely, as you said, due to technical issues, then the press release would have mentioned a release date for the PS3 version as well.

I really hate how Microsoft uses it's $$$ to buy everything including exclusivity to demo's and DLC. I mean it's good buisness on their part but to me the consumer it is something I am begininng to rescent and I'm starting to really hate them for it. I mean demo's should be released to all consoles at the same time or does Microsoft think I'm going to buy a 360 or PS3 just to play the Resident Evil 5 demo. Are you kidding me? and the stupidity or the KZ2 demo coming after the game unless you pre-order it, well WTH is a demo for if you already pre-ordered the game. Demo's are supposed to make you want to pre-order the game, this Killzone 2 demo is completely backwards.
