Capcom Research & Development division chief Keiji Inafune has said the company hopes to release Resident Evil 5 simultaneously for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Speaking to Xbox360ism Inafune said the hope is that Resident Evil 5 can be released simultaneously on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

"We want to grow the Resident Evil series into a multi-platform franchise, so we hope to release it simultaneously," said Inafune. "But since we don't know the launch period for the PS3 yet, so it's hard to say."

Speaking more on the Subject of Resident Evil 5, Inafune went on to add that the game will feature online elements of some description, but was not able to elaborate on what this will entail.
