Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 4 HD and Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X will cost 1600 Microsoft Points or £15.99. Resident Evil 4 arrives first on Xbox LIVE Games on Demand on September 20, with the PSN version the day after. I have bought Resident Evil 4 on the Wii for £3.99. I find that in itself a bargain. Will I download the HD version of Resi Evil 4? Probably would, but only when it has dropped into a Christmas sale. As we know, Microsoft & Sony do have good sales on around the Christmas period, but I do think these games will bring some former glory back to the franchise.

Resident Evil 5 was a marmite game within the gaming community, but I rather enjoyed the game. I haven't finished the game mind, but I do intend on getting the game again and to sit down and finish it!

You guys all wait until the Splintercell trilogy in HD is £65. Then what will be cheap?

To be honest, I never played either, having only played 2 and 5 (can't say I had a problem with Africa ;)) so I might pick up 4 because it's HD and probably has some bugs worked out of it, too. Don't quote me on the last part, though. :p

RE4 and Code: Veronica X have never appeared on the XBox or 360 to my knowledge, so to anyone who hasn't played them 1600 points is relatively cheap.

Both have appeared on the PS2, so you'd expect them to be cheaper on PS3, but then there's probably a whole generation of PS3 owners who've never played RE4 or Code: Veronica X either.

I still have the original Code: Veronica (sans the X which is the updated version with extra cut scenes exclusively released for the Dreamcast in Japan and released on the PS2 worldwide), so I'm tempted by RE4 but might hold off on Veronica.

I bought Resident Evil 4 for £10 years ago, I don't understand why I'd have to pay more years later. Oh right, Capcom.....

How can you say 1600 points isn't a bargain? I never pay over £15 for 2100 points and the last few ive got I managed to get for around a tenner.
Besides Resi 4 is a fantastic game which imo deserves to have a hd remake.

Might buy it when it's plopped in a sale.

Seriously? This is a bargain? £16 for a game that is how old? I paid less than that for Red Dead, Fallout 3 GOTY, Borderlands GOTY and many others. Different games I know and this is a very good game by all accounts, but £16 for an old touched up game feels a bit cheeky.
