Konami: No PES 2009 demo tomorrow

There will be no PES 2009 demo released tomorrow, Konami UK has confirmed to VideoGamer.com.

Fans had speculated online that Konami was planning to release a demo of the hotly anticipated football game through Xbox LIVE and PSN to counter the confirmed September 11 release of a FIFA 09 demo.

However, when contacted by VideoGamer.com this afternoon for clarification on the matter, a spokesperson for Konami UK confirmed that a PES 2009 demo won't be released tomorrow.

"We've never said tomorrow," said the rep. "There will be a demo in due course. Our announcement will be made in conjunction with Sony."

So there you have it. Looks like PES fans are going to have to wait it out a little while longer to find out for themselves whether Konami has managed to make PES great again following last year's disappointment. PES 2009 is due out for PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, PC, PSP and mobile phones this Autumn. A Wii version is due in spring 2009.

Yes, PES is a better game than FIFA but have you already forgotten what Konami did last year with the 'online mode'? I would rather play a demo with an earlier release date with the wrong players than a late demo with the correct players. Konami just have to get off their lazy ass and release one. I am a PES fan but Konami don't give a sh*t about their fans and there are better games out there even if you don't want to get FIFA 09.

konami clearly doesn't suck. their AI is 10 times better than fifa's. when i'm playing fifa, I always get the feeling it hasn't been tested properly and that it's designed by people who have never played football or have seen a match in their lives. add to that the fact that the teams in fifa often have wrong players due to their early release date.

I say screw Konami! They can never get off their lazy ass and stick to their release dates. Every year it's always a month late from the scheduled release date. Why the hell would you want bother downloading a demo if the game comes out the following few weeks. The FIFA 09 demo is out already and this year I won't be getting PES for sure. Konami you suck!
