Developer claims everything is running as normal despite crippling lag.
Konami has apologised for PS3 PES 2008 server shut down this morning.
In a notification displayed when gamers access the in-game lobby, Konami said it was "glad to inform you everything is now running as normal".
AdvertisementHowever, when we played a ranked match online it still suffered from crippling lag and slowdown. Playing PES 2008 online on the Xbox 360 is currently a much smoother experience, although there is still some lag.
Yesterday we revealed that Konami is working on a patch that will combat both offline and online problems with the game. Konami is suffering criticism from gamers who say the PS3 version of the game suffers from frame rate issues and slowdown. You can see why we gave the game seven out of 10 in our review here. Here's Konami's latest PS3 online notification in full: "From 09:00 onwards on 26/10/2007 (BST), customers were unable to log-in due to server trouble, We would like to apologise for all inconvenience caused. We are also glad to inform you everything is now running as normal."

Yeah the PSN is free bt what does that really mean? n the ase of this game it equals lag and framerate issues. On Blacksite Area 51 it means no co-op, voice chat, leaderboards, and ect. On Virtual Fighter 5 it equaled no multiplayer. Think about this Sony drones, why would a developer want to spend money and resources on muliplayer? Ater all Sony maks them foot the bill despite thefact that their console is lagging in sales as bad as the games themselves. Go watch a blueray movie while you think of a witty comeback.

honestly....
i had a 360 since christmas 2005. i got the red light thing and tried to fix it myself,f@@@ed it up and threw it away(yes im a!"£$%^&*)
bought a ps3 last month,and i can honestly and unbiasedly say this is currently the worst console ive ever owned.it stinks. the xbox is simple,well presented,its online service is brilliant. i bought virtual tennis 3 for ps3 theres no multiplayer...but 4 360 there is,kind of bull is that? my advice is buy a 360 elite,some fantastic games,excellent multiplayer service so for me the 360 is much better.please 360 take me back,she meant nothing to me i swear,i love you please baby im sorry!!!!!!! i shall go and cry now ---oh and i knew somethin was wrong with pro evo,couldnt put my finger on it but i knew its just not the same,its just not the same. luckily for me i have a snes with the best footie game ever, super soccer

Hi, i'm from Brazil, i have a ps3 but i don't have a PES2008 game yet. Some guys here had diferents results using normal av cables (low resolution, like 480i) and HDMI cables. I think its a resolution problem (or hdmi out problem, i don't know). Someone, please test it and send a message to konami! Sorry for my bad English.

PES 2008 online for the 360 is a joke! The ball vanishes at certain points only to end up halfway down the pitch leaving you confused and thinking wtf!?
It's a joke and I will be trading PES for FIFA asap!

I also cant beleive i traded fifa in for this pile of rubbish. Ive been playing fifa for years i was never a fan of pro evo but i thought i'd give it a try this year since people are always talking about great gameplay. i played the game for about 20 mins and my opinion is that the gameplay is absolutely awful for example jagged movement, a really heavy ball that doesnt bounce and a referee that gives out red cards like theres no tommorow. im gonna trade this back for fifa.

Wonder what the ps2 versions like?
i have a xbox version and runs fine till u go online and its like im playing on dial up with ping of 3000+ and people vanishing and warping. IF the ps2 version is good i might get that instead as its alot cheap which would mean a trade in plus store credit (HMV)
