Publisher working "full strength" to combat crippling lag.
Konami is working to iron out severe lag PS3 owners are currently experiencing with PES 2008.
An online notification displayed when gamers enter the PES 2008 lobby revealed that the publisher has uncovered "issues which can affect the online gameplay quality of PES 2008" and is working "full strength to find a solution as quickly as possible".
At the time of writing PS3 PES 2008 is practically unplayable online, with the ball pinging about uncontrollably and players randomly disappearing and reappearing.
Konami is already suffering criticism from gamers who say the PS3 version of the game suffers from frame rate issues and slowdown. You can see why we gave the game seven out of 10 in our review here. You can also see our exclusive gameplay footage here.
In further online notifications, Konami has revealed that between 25 October and 1 November there will be daily maintenance between 08.00 - 09.00 (BST), during which time online play will be shut down. This is in addition to ongoing regular maintenance every Monday between 07.00 - 08.00 (BST).
Here's Konami's notification in full: "Konami Digital Entertainment has uncovered issues which can affect the online gameplay?(sic) quality of PES 2008 on PLAYSTATION 3. We?(sic) are working at full strength to find a solution as quickly as possible. We sincerely apologise for this inconvenience. Further announcements will be made as soon as we have additional details."

While I am happy they are working on this is there any chance a patch can also fix the single player frame rate issues too? My copy arrives todaqy but may very well be rtaded for the 360 version by the end of the week!

Install
There is a option to install game files to harddrive under the settings menu in game try that improved my frame rate

What about Xbox, surely that's worse!?
I'm infuriated there has been no apology re: xbox live abomination with the new pro. Surely this has got to be worse than PS3 cos it simply cant get worse than this?!
Pro 2008 on xbox live, suffers the worst lag I have ever known and littered with glitches that make the game totally unplayable.
And WTF is up with having to wait nearly 7 seconds for ref to blow his whistle for corners and free-kicks and will we ever be able to do a quick throw-in again?!
Absolute disgrace that this game has been allowed on the shelves in such a state, it's bad enough how lazy they are updating things in pro anyway without all these other problems. The online is the only way I play pro, the only real fun to it IMO and it is awful, will it all be fixed with patches?
Also what's with having to wait for the other player to press start on replays everytime, the games are just one big battle, good 10-15 minutes to find a game, then you have the lag which makes it awful experience and on top of that when you just want it to end, you hgave to wait around for replays and reluctant referee's whistles.

screw the xbox version! At least you can play offline without glitches. PS3 should have priority as it was sony who made konami able to go multi platform!!!

Registering for online
Has anyone else had a problem registering to get ur login details for the PS3 version? I have tried several times and keep getting told there is an error but have correctly filled all the details in. any help would be much appreciated.
