Sony: MotorStorm: Pacific Rift sells over one million

Despite disappointing chart performance.

PlayStation 3 exclusive racer MotorStorm: Pacific Rift has sold over one million copies across the world, Sony has confirmed.

The impressive sales news comes as something of a surprise following what was considered to be disappointing chart performance. The game entered the UK all format chart at 29 when it was released at the beginning of November, and then fell to 35 the week after.

Speaking to Gamesindustry.biz, Worldwide Studios boss Michael Denny said: "We're pleased with the high Metacritic rating of 82 per cent and it's sold over a million units worldwide."

We have already had this conversation GOW2 Has a take up of 1in8 consoles don't think this is in the same league as what we are talking about here. Fable 2 does not feature in many bundles games such as Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indie are the big push with Gears 1+2 bundle. This also isn't a question of advertisement. There is nothing wrong with advertisement. This is just a statement which says Motorstorm 1.5 has been sold within its fair share of bundles increasing its sales and that is a deffinate fact. Thus why it doesn't figure so well in charts.

yes but Karlius arent you forgetting most 360 games are also bundled with the console. ahem fable 2, *cough* GOW2 and others, or you not seen the desperate amount of 360m adverts on tv?

Its bundled loads practically as a filler item. In Game, Gamestation, Play, Dixons, Currys, PC World so on and so on. If you have not seen it bundled then your just not looking. In answer MotorStorm Pacific Rift is to PS3 what Kung Fu Panda (800,000 SALES) is to 360 and that says a lot.

I've seen it bundled in game and gamestation, i borrowed it off a mate and have to say i was dissappointed, although this might have been cause i was sessioning wipeout at the same time
