David Reeves, SCEE president, has revealed that more than 1 million PlayStation 3 consoles have been sold to PAL gamers.
MCV has exclusively revealed PAL PlayStation 3 sales to date, with Sony's David Reeves making it clear that the one million figure is for consoles sold to real people and not the often touted sell-in figures to retail outlets.
"Early last week we went through the one million mark on PS3. And we did that in nine and a half weeks," said Reeves. "That was faster than both PS2 and PSOne. And I think that the analysts out there will also realise that it's faster than our brothers and sisters in the competitive world."
Reeves also revealed some strong software sales with around two million units of first-party software snapped up by PS3 buyers. Of this two million, Resistance accounts for 600,000 units, with MotorStorm managing 500,000 units.
