Sony Computer Entertainment has today announced that the follow-up to hit PlayStation 3 off-road racer MotorStorm is to be released exclusively for PlayStation 3 this autumn.

Gone is the drab dessert landscape, replaced by a lush tropical island paradise in the Pacific Ocean. Expect swamps, dense jungle, towering peaks and steaming volcanoes. The varied locations aren't just for show either, with Mother Nature's entire arsenal set to challenge players. We're talking thick mud, tangled undergrowth, fast-flowing rivers, volcano clouds and deadly lava pools.

16-players will be able to race together online, and for the first time in the series up to four-players will be able to race head-to-head on s single console via a split screen.

All the favourite off-road vehicles return - ATVs, rally cars, buggies, motorbikes, race trucks, mudpluggers and Big Rigs - plus the new monster trucks that will simply climb over any vehicles that get in their way.

MotorStorm is scheduled for release in the autumn. Expect lots more info over the coming months.

i cant wait I still feel the original was underrated slightly. The graphics are still top notch seeing as this was a launch title and how far they come with games like uncharted that is quite a high compliment.

I loved the action of the gameplay and it was solid in what did with massive potential to build on in the future.

A storm is coming and want to be right there in the middle of it.

Destructible surroundings and the new tropical settings look very good indeed.
