Mortal Kombat 9 to feature 'sick' fatalities

Ed Boon says the game will be Mature rated.

Posting on his Twitter account, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon has been teasing out nuggets of info regarding the next instalment in the popular Mortal Kombat franchise. Superheroes are gone, M-rated fatalities are in.

"Motion capturing special moves & fatalities today....they are kind of sick !!" posted Boon.

He added: "People want an M-rated MK....dammit we will give them an M-rated MK."

Most recently Boon posted: "I think players are definitely going to get the "warm & fuzzies" when they see, hear, play & "discover" the next MK."

It's good to hear that despite the uncertain future of Midway Games, the Mortal Kombat development team is pushing on with the new game. MK vs DC Universe was certainly a return to form for the franchise, so we're expecting MK9 to be pretty tasty.

seen the trailer and i really cant wait to how sick they made fatalities for MK 9 i love all the games im a huge Mk fan and have been waiting for another Mk to come out

finally a new mk game mk vs dc was a bit of a disapointment but then so were a few others like deception and deadly alliance but i always just look past the bad features on games and look at the good ones...i cant believe of all the sites i looked at everyone was bitching about mk9 and saying stuff like it shouldnt be so gory if you ask me the gorier the better

A certain level of irony in it being a Mature rated title but the people likely to be attracted by "sick" fatalities are likely to not be mature.

Finally they have come to there senses!

I liked MKvsDC no shadow of a doubt, but I kept on hopeing that they would bring back the true Mortal Kombat game. On what has made the series! (MK1, 2 and 3)

Simply cannot wait for this game to come out now! :p
