You again Yin-poole, with the mis-information??? Geezzz, the Playstation 3 has 512 in total memory, in fact the divided memory can be shared between the CPU and GPU. It is up to the developer to bridge the extra memory, either way, BOTH systems have the exact same amount of memory. There is NO issue with the RAM, it is developing for the Cell architecture 8 core processor if you haven't already read this yet. Thanks for updating us, too little too late.
Only this guy would post an opinion from the lame studio that brought us Monster Madness. Lame, let us know when you get an interview with someone who has even the slightest idea about what they are talking about. Check out Battlefield: Bad Company, that game looks slightly better on the PS3 than the 360. ONLY slightly, but its a definate improvement from a few months ago, and the potential is still untapped being that the PS3 is still only a year and 7 months in the making. If it weren't for falsely reported articles like this the site wouldn't even get a single visit.
dude these devs need to step up man gessshh did they even take a look at mgs4 and uncharted just to name a few....i think they need to go back to school an learn some more coding..
PS3 is future man
Lee Perez & Gabe Newell should have a love child together so it can grow up and develop games for the Atari 2600. It seems that is where all the close-minded developers are headed. Backward!
the ps3 has shared memory with the gpu but what i think both systems should do is use usb flash drives for virtual ram instead of the internal drive. usb flash memory is fast as hell and its real cheap now too... for 10 bucks you can get 2 gigs of it. ive heard about people setting up there computers to boot from usb and running there OS right from the flash drive and it loads lighting quick. both systems have usb drives allready so why not?
I think you gotta do some research... COD4 is not made in PS3 then ported to 360. IW have different groups of people working on the game simultaneously. And the PS3 side got some of their best developers working on it. Go search this on the net and you will find the direct answer about this fact from IW themselves.
To omen and they person who wrote to omen, you are both wrong. Call of Duty 4 was developed for both platforms at the same time. The reason why 360 versions of multi-platform games are a bit better is that developers start building code around the 360 which makes it more difficult and time consuming to re-write for the PS3 without significant loss in time and money. That is the way Microsoft knows they could hold an advantage to the PS3, make developers use all of their pre-production resourses to concentrate on the 360 while handing down a second-rate code to Sony's platform, therefore giving the illustion of better performance. When in fact all games that start off on the PS3 usually look better on the PS3. Thanks to publications like this, the propaganda has been working, but when you see games like MGS4, Killzone 2, URT3, Resistance 2, inFamous, you can tell that 3rd part developers have been acting like selfserving wimps, and cut corners on the PS3 versions of 3rd party games.
I bought into the 360 hype initially but after careful research its plain as day that Microsoft has been underhandedly paying for propaganda against Sony rather than developing stable hardware and provide more than just FPS games. The online service is just crap and its 50 dollars worth of crap. For 50 bucks a year, every year, you would think its customers could get better than; lag, security breaches, unwarrented bans, racist homophobic sexist gaming community, and profession 'gamers' that make playing a casual online game (like Halo3 or COD4) impossible. All that BS for 50 bucks? Only for the sheep that compose the 360 fanboy base.
To people going on about which port was made better your not listening to what im pointing out.
Port or no port COD4 was still an amazing game on the PS3, which has proven great games can be made on the console wiether it has limitations or not.
The people behind Monster Madness shouldn't blame a consoles memory for there lack of knowledge.
Who carse what was made 1st or coded, the fact remains you can do good work using the PS3.
