What I would LOVE to see is multiplayer (online and offline), free roam, skins (some should be downloadable, some should be in the game), CHARACTER CREATION (for online and after you have finished the game you could play as that character), longer campaign, maybe have her own gun like they were planning to do first, a new runner, action shot (as in take a picture/video of a certain move, a hidden object, an amazing moment, etc.), more tricks, maybe for the Wii version (if you plan on that) include the Wii Balance Board for it somehow, and be able to go on street level would be interesting. That's all I have to say. I love this game soooo much and I'm excited about Mirror's Edge 2!!!!
well im a big me2 fan yo seriously but wat i would like 2 see in me2 is like free roam of the city cuz on the first one you coudnt do that wich was so stupid i think dice would had more sells that way not sayin it wasnt sellin good though or anything also like better combat though like if 6 police are surrounding you u can take them all out with series of button combos....also there needs 2 b alot more stuff u can use....like a was reading like we can play as a list of runners and stuff like that chinese dude on the concept art of the other runners that mo-fo look like he go hard yo...and a race mode so u can race against people thats online and stuff also customizible runners that you can create and stuff online and offfline.....also the elevaters are very stupid because they mess up the flow of running and being free also you should be able to pick a side like police persuit runners like on the first one also better weapon disarms...also co-op.....also i know might sound stupid but like when you run you can do flips and stuff the reason y i say this is its a vid on youtube about the mirrorsedge1 she was running and doin flips at the sametime will she ways jumping over stuff grabbing stuff thats wat i would look forward in mirrorsedge2!!!!!
One thing that I found boring about that game was having to find a gun to use against enemies because without one you practically had no chance so one cool thing would be is if the main character (Faith) could have a hand gun or something to use against enemies
I have to disagree there, I think the whole point is that Faith doesn't have a gun. What I loved about ME is that it isn't like other IPs and having a gun would just make it another shooter. Why do games always have to have guns? I don't think you should use guns at all on ME2 but have to knock people out without the use of firearms. Tasers would be cool, however.
To whoever said the lighting/contrast was bad... really? I thought it was great. The sunlight and shadows were amazing and the way Faith's vision focussed in and out depending on what was near or far. In contrast, I'm appalled at how bad the lighting and vision quality is on Call of Duty 5, which I played for the first time the other day. Mirror's Edge really set the bar high as far as I'm concerned. I think people are far too stuck in their ways to accept the change that it's brought. But that's just me.
I think Mirrors Edge two should have a longer story (bet you haven't heard that one before), but it should also be a sand box game with the ability to go both on the inside AND the outside of the buildings as well as the sewer system. One thing you could do with regards to that is make a map that you can set waypoints on. Then have the game compute the best way to get from point A to point B. If you really wanted to make sure we would use it a lot, you could make it so that it will compute different routes depending on wether we wanted speed or stealth most. I think you should keep Faith as the main cheractor. In regards to missions though, you could have the main character have only the one base they can get missions at at the start. Then as she starts making more runner allies, they start letting she use their bases. Missions should vary between running messages, rescuing runners and supporters, and anything else you might be able to think of that requires speed or stealth. You should defiantly have a friend runner from the start (kind of like Merc, someone who mans the radio when your out and about), then you could call him for certain things, like checking the wire for how much heat you have on you or you could call him as the map to get from A to B and when you want to ditch the police you could just ask him to get you out of here and he'll give you directions to places you could either out run them or hide from them. I have to say, I really liked the color scheme and over all design for the city. The combat system was good for the most part, but I think you should add a little more diversity to here moves and make some more enemies and disarms a little easier in respect to the machine gun toting SWAT enemies. You also might want to make some fill in side missions. Which basically means that you make some side missions that don't make any difference to the story line, their just there to give you something to do if you're stalling on some of the storyline missions. You should make an upgrade system in the game so you can do a little bit of character customization though. Base it as a (and I don't mean bad, just illegal) black market were you can spend cash you earn on missions to buy things like a utility belt for smokebombs and grenades, guns and ammo, and other helpful things like a grappling hook. One last thing, make it so that you come across other runners in the game. If you make it so that the game will give other runners fill in missions and keep track of their location in respect to yours you can make it so that you can help out other people or have them help you in return. That's about it, if on the off chance that anyone in contact with this game actually reads this, please contact me at LetumComplexo@gmail.com if you have any questions or want to talk about anything I wrote here. I very much doubt it but if you do end up using any of my ideas here please tell me.
- A deeper, in depth, definetly a lot longer, thought out story line.
- I think EA's going to want to focus on FAITH again but another, preferably MALE character availability with his own story line (that ties in with FAITH, past boyfriend?) would make things really interesting and allow more people to associate/feel connected. But if we really want to make things interesting let us pick from a team of runners!
-Customisable clothing would be awesome. Along with pistol choice if we do happen to get our own gun =] Burst fire? Single shot?
- Free World, Stop Holding my hand! =P Ever played BURNOUT PARADISE? Players can go ANYWHERE. But theres always a pointer/indicator available. Adopting this idea would be a perfect way for players to "Get into the Game" Pk and Free runnings all about FREEDOM. Use that "B" button for somethin' else! (ideas to follow) and give us a MAP OF THE CITY to call up! Should make things interesting and really test a players skill. Keep runner vision though please! I'm not a genius =P MORE BUILDINGS WITHIN REACH! MORE ROOFS MORE CARPARKS MORE RED DOORS MORE ZIPLINES GIVE US CHOICE THATS AVAILABLE 24/7 EVEN IF WE'RE GOING THE WRONG WAY =P THROW IN AN INDICATOR AND WE CANT COMPLAIN =] OPEN UP THE WORLD! Be good if cop chases happened randomly, or in response to some kind of meter. Uncontrolled police chases could be fun, but I do like the controlled chase levels. Maybe save random police chases to a FREE ROAM mode.
- Music was fine, Liked the fact if you want a gun find one. Having your own pistol im not sure about but could be interesting. LOVE BULLET TIME. ADD A HEARTBEAT =P
- Online play is a must! Not just time trials and chasing ghosts, but real player interaction with the option to "Play dirty!" (as in knock another player down) and game types! Such as racing from one point to another in a free-world enviroment! Now that would be cool. (no guns though or the race would end quickly im sure) Add games like "Tag" "Capture the flag".
- Better combat system. Kick option please! Use the "B" button for that instead and mix it up a little!" And no lagging! Realistic interaction! And if theres a male character let him pack a wallop even if it sacrifices combat speed! What ever you do please ADD to the combat system because I think it was a bit bare...
- Almost done - Please, whatever you do...spend some money on the CGI in-game cutscenes. It just looked...weird. Not a necessity, im just being picky. But if can...do. I liked the cartoon graphics for the movie scenes though. In-game graphics where good, could be better. As long as you make it MORE realistic. Whatever you do dont get arty like the new prince of persia or I think it would lose that ability to make us feel like we're there. As the first person aspect was designed to make us feel.
- LOVED "LetumComplexo" 's idea of buying things like smoke bombs and grappling hooks. Maybe we could have a point before a mission where we can take a limited supply of each?
Be really good if we included "MERC's LAIR" as a base of operation where we can choose missions in a sort of FREE ROAM mode? Delivering packages? Earning cash for more smoke bombs? Getting chased by the blues for funsies?
I think thats all I've got to say/wish for. I know these things cost money but you get out what you put in right?
I love mirror's edge. I think it was a good job. These are just ways I think it could be improved.
P.S not keen on the rollerblading idea. Maybe for another game? It's just that this game is about "Runners" and free running and PK is use of "The Body" I think adding vechiles would turn it away from those things and towards extreme sports. The Free-running aspect is what attracted me to the game as a fan, especially as Sebastian Foucan was involved. It would become a different game if those things where put in. For me anyway.
dont get me wrong, it is a great game i just think it should have longer or more levels to play but yes as the guy said before, have someone we need to train that thinks they know it all and like give them a super hard mission!!!
Please please Don't change the gameplay at all it's already perfect i like the idea of creating your own character though. all you have to change is make the game longer and possibly have a split screen multiplayer with faith and kate.awesome game though
definitely no 2d small video segments. for some reason that kind of bugged me. haha. roller skates is a horrible idea, its a parkour game. that would defeat the purpose a little i think. i would also like to see faith in the sequel. coop, im not sure. it would be fun but it could get a little frustrating lol. i rly would like if it was a free roam game to explore the city. maybe when free roaming some areas have guards on the roofs. a very long story would be a plus. i can see maybe using a knife but i would prefer beating ppl up with my fists in a close fight. it gives you that bad A$$ kind of feeling. new moves, yes but not too extreme, dont do what halo did and almost make you a god to defeat. the first one was beautiful and i rly want a second. (no offense to halo for that sentence. just trying to explain, sorry)
I think Mirrors Edge is probably the best console game I have ever played, it is streets ahead in game play but a few things would make it even better, I would look at the story line first, build emotion in the player and you get an altogether better experience - ME1 was a little lacking in that department (please build on what you have DONT change it though) I love the colour scheme used, i love the flowing game play and fast moving camera angles and play is made all the better from experiencing a great depth of field and overall good visablility all around your character - This has been a failure in games before in my opinion the developers try to get clever with graphics but end up making your character feel claustrophobic and unplayable (Resident Evil 5 is a good example of that - apologies to those who loved it I like the idea of Roller Blades on a level but not as a permanent addition, I like the idea of a free world too BUT i dont want to see this in Story mode, it has to have some direction or you will loose half your audience as they will find it too hard and get bored.
My main improvement would be to increase the length of the story and build up to a series of key points during the game - like a good book every story has a beginning then the plot develops then the twist comes and then a final scene or solution. I would like to be able to chose 1 character to play of maybe 2 or 3 starting characters BUT i would like ALL of them to be involved in the story. Depending on which you chose you would play a different part of the story all leading to the same ending. I would have all 3 playing characters or sometimes 2 of the characters meeting up and cut scenes discussing the tasks in hand, you would see the story from your selected characters perspective but always working towards the same ending. So you basically see the game in 3 different journeys and would have specific DIFFERENT tasks to do throughout the story, only seeing similar footage at the scenes where the characters meet up, the tasks assigned to the non playing characters would always be completed sucessfully so the story would flow but this give so much more to the game. To have 3 playable storys would also mean the overall game doesn't need to be extended that much either.
By the way I forgot to say DO NOT add more weapons or vehicles or try to be too clever - it will fail !!!!
My story changes above with 3 playable characters is the way forward, everything else has been done before - Infamous was along these lines and its HUGE !!!
You have a perfect model and I would buy the game if it was exactly the same as ME1 with a new story, the mechanics are right do not mess it up
