MGS4 release set for June 12 in US and Europe

Euro gamers won't be made to wait for the PS3's highly anticipated title.

According to a German press release issued by Konami (translated by Eurogamer), Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be released in Europe on June 12, 2008, the same day as the game ships across North America.

"Blockbuster events and premieres are a tradition of the summer," said Kazumi Kitaue, Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. Chairman and CEO. "We anticipate that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots fits that bill perfectly, and consumers will be waiting in line to get their copy of the game just like it's a hit Hollywood movie."

MGS4 will include the Metal Gear Online Starter Pack, but the press release also mentions that a free beta for MGO will also be available to Euro gamers.

Gamers look to have an exciting few months ahead, with GTA 4 arriving on April 29 then only around six weeks later Metal Gear Solid 4.
