Beta testers to get access to two maps until May 6.
Konami has announced that the Metal Gear online Open Beta will commence on April 21 and run until May 6. The Beta will be available to download from the PlayStation Store from April 17.
Players will have access to two maps, Blood Bath and Groznyi Grad, each requiring cooperative team-based play. Blood Bath is a two-tier battle setting, while Groznyi Grad is the Shagohod development complex from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
Metal Gear Online will launch as part of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots in June, although this will only be the starter pack comprising five stages. As well as the two maps included in the Beta, players will get Ambush Alley, Midtown Maelstrom and Urban Ultimatum. Additional expansion packs will be released throughout the year.

Same Q as James, is it free or do we need codes?

I think (and hope) it's free, no code needed.

No pre-order is necessary - anyone can download the European beta - Konami hasn't mentioned anything about price, so you should all be fine!
