Konami says the title is now expected to be released in Q2 2008.
Early this morning it was announced that Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will not makes its planned winter release, and is now expected for release on PlayStation 3 in the second quarter of 2008.
"Konami has decided to delay the title's release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide," reads the official Konami statement.
Konami also notes that it will make an announcement regarding the game's release "as soon as possible".
This news will come as a major blow for Sony, whose PlayStation 3 console has been struggling to match sales of the Xbox 360. Metal Gear Solid 4 is highly anticipated not only by existing PlayStation 3 owners, but also millions of PlayStation 2 owners waiting for the first must have PlayStation 3 title.
