The Mass Effect Trilogy, a compilation of all three award-winning games in one box, will be released on November 6 for Xbox 360 and PC in the US, BioWare has announced. The PS3 trilogy will arrive in stores at a later date.

Mass Effect 1 will also be released digitally on the PlayStation Store. Wii U doesn't appear to be getting the trilogy.

Coinciding with the launch of Mass Effect Trilogy, BioWare will kick off the first annual N7 Day, a worldwide celebration of the Mass Effect franchise on November 7, 2012. A variety of in-game, online and live events are planned.

The Mass Effect trilogy follows the rise of Commander Shepard from Alliance Marine to becoming the galaxy's most elite soldier – the only soldier who can lead an all-out galactic war against an ancient alien race known as the Reapers.

The trilogy will be priced $59.99 in the US. There's currently no word on a European release.

Cheers dude, was thinking I might try to grab this for the PC, might just get ME1 for the PS3 and be done with it. But then again, I'd love to do a full runthrough with a new Shep...

Never got the chance to play any of the Mass Effect's. I don't like to play sequels without first playing the originals so I'm looking forward to this on the PS3, once it drops to about half the price of course.

Remember PC gamers, the first Mass Effect was a HORRIBLE port.

Great reply back as you make two great points in one sentence

Indie devs that Nintendo are being extremely helpful, and the simple idea that I can just transfer the game from my TV screen to my gamepad when someone else wants the TV

I can't argue with that as that is two really good factors...but I still will, as personally if the likes of EA etc are not gonna support it then that is a serious problem for me and makes me think 200 odd quid could be a gamble for me if the major players are not gonna gamble/invest in it.

I agree it's still early days and I agree it takes time for a console to get in gear, it took the 360 two and a bit years for me for starters.
But all 3 of the major ones I'm unsure on buying so far tbh with Sony possibly going bust in the near future in my view if they continue, Nintendo going a similar road so far with the Wii and MS more intrested in making a media/kinnect console and their history with making poor consoles RROD for example.

Anyway that's just my thoughts and how unsure I am on the next gen, just all over the place so far.

I'll answer it by saying that if Valve, Bungie, or Capcom made a console which meant that their games were exclusive to that console, I would also buy one of those. Nintendo are in the VERY top tier of games developers in my opinion, and I will buy whatever I have to in order to keep on playing their games.

This time round, though, it doesn't appear to be just Nintendo. It's still early days, but ZombiU and Colonial Marines point to devs getting to grips with the concept of the gamepad. Add to it the two games from Platinum, talk from Indie devs that Nintendo are being extremely helpful, and the simple idea that I can just transfer the game from my TV screen to my gamepad when someone else wants the TV, and I reckon it will be worth it. Obviously the price will eventually drop, but I'm happy that I will be getting my money's worth before too long even if I buy at launch.

It makes me question if it has serious backing from other gaming companies, which so far looks like it doesn't.

That's my logic, it's suppose to be a next gen console with not even special editions like this one coming out for it when they can as they are bringing out Mass Effect 3 for it.

But if you can give enough reason to splash out 220-300 quid on a console which so far has very little going for it, then please I would really like to know Lee.

Logic fail? How does the existence of a 5 year old game on PS3 affect your decision to buy a Wii U or not? Would you cite Super Mario Bros. as reason to not buy a PS3 or XBox?

That's another reason not to get a Wii-U.

Seem to be more frequent now lol.
