So similar are the visuals of Mass Effect 3 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, that BioWare marketing boss David Silverman believes gamers simply won’t be able to spot any differences.

“This is the first time that all three platforms have shipped at the same time and it will be an amazing adventure whatever platform you play it on,” Silverman told CVG. “I don’t think you’ll see a difference between the Xbox version and the PS3 version. There’s no drop in quality on either.”

Mass Effect 2 was the first title in the series to appear on PS3, although it only did so a year after hitting Xbox 360.

In his Mass Effect 2 PlayStation 3 review Neon said: “It’s been said before, but it’s worth repeating: Western RPGs will never be the same again, such is the impact of BioWare’s work here. In short, Mass Effect 2 is bloody brilliant. Grab a fork, and tuck in.”

Mass Effect 3 is scheduled for release March 9, 2012 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, but fans will get the chance to try out the title at GAMEfest this September.

It’s also unlikely this is the end for the franchise, with BioWare stating it’s seeking the right way to continue Mass Effect.
