Jimi Hendrix coming to Rock Band next week

The legend's entire second album, Axis: Bold as Love.

RollingStone reports that after a long wait, legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix is heading to the Rock Band platform with the release of the Axis: Bold as Love album as DLC. The tracks will be available on March 30 for Wii and Xbox 360 and April 1 on PS3.

"Much like Jimi's music, we feel that Rock Band represents an amazing, innovative medium for music discovery and interaction that can have a profound affect on those who experience it," said Janie Hendrix, the CEO of Experience Hendrix. "We are extremely pleased to be able to have Jimi Hendrix's genius musical legacy continue to live on and touch people the world over through Rock Band."

An agreement has also been reached with Experience Hendrix for the possible inclusion of a Hendrix avatar, replica instruments and possibly a Rock Band: Jimi Hendrix game in the style of last year's The Beatles: Rock Band.
