Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has confirmed that the highly anticipated Killzone 2 single-player demo is now available to download from the PlayStation Store.
The demo will feature the first two sections of 'Corinth River' - beach landing and warehouse - and will therefore feature the same tutorial sequence as the final game.
Killzone 2 will be released on February 27.

I'm an Aussie!!! Can't comment on ya pound 'n' sh*t but good to see an active forum which isn't just about console bashing and fanboy sh*te!!!
I expect this game to retail at about $88.00 AUS and comparitively, not to mention by earlier Australian standards, this is a steal...
I do have one question for RecoN though: "What display/ set are you running (T.V wise)???".
Lets hope the multiplayer lives up to expectations.... Pray it's not another lag-bag for aussie gamers...
BANG!!!

I've preordered from Play.com for £29.99 and you get a ps3 'theme' free for the XMB which is kinda lame but the price is good!

All i can say is WOW!! I couldnt beleive the intro video, normally you notice glitches on the animations and clasing of texturs, not this game. It was soooo smooth and didnt suffer any frame rate drops at all.
Then something magical happened...I landaded and was able to move :D I instanlty tried the controls and knew exactly what videogamer was on about witht he aiming, and chose Alternate 2 settings. (Much better) I was astounded by the ships flying over your head as you was maiking your way under the bridge. Even the enviroment looked like it has had a rough ride from all the rage around you.
In the ware house the grapchis really show with the shoot outs and explosions! Lighting has been very important to Gueriila on this game, and they picked the right way of doing it. The animations for reloading are just class!! I loved it! Also did any one else notice when you jump, it feeld like you really are weighed down by all your gear and that your arms move lighter than your waist due to the weight of your body. So realistic!
I really had a certain expectation on this one, i wanted it to reach it, and it bloody did :P I was sketchy because of the over hype Haze got and it ruined the game cos it did not meet the high expectations of most gamers. I for one was expectiing slightly better gameplay, but it was still a good game.
Killzone 2's AI is very smart indeed. For once in a game i felt challeneged and provoked by the helgast for the shot they just got me with. I found them quite intimedatiing at one point in the warehouse, one guy thoguht he would whipp around the side and give me a load in the back, by the time i turned around he was running back for cover. I was amazed, i thought some one hacked in my PS3! LOL!!!
Good use of grenades by the Helgast, but found a couple of times they didnt quite throw it near my area, and i was in cover. I found the cover system a little tricky at first, cos sometimes you come to a corner and sometimes my screen went back and forth a couple of times, might of been my button.
I have to say this and im not being a bitch, but this is the best FPS i have played in a very long time and that possibly could meen better than COD4, but i will have to wait until the multiplayer is out.
And a little note to VG, i dont think it needs co-op as it really is the right balance, as some one previously said, in difficulty with the player and using the enviroment.

I wasn't aware of the Six-axis functionality. Sounds interesting. As for your comment about timed explosions, this should add some depth to the gameplay as the Helghast act & react much like you or I would in these combat situations. I expect a great deal of difficulty measuring a precise "environmental" attack but at least at any given time there should be swarms of Helghan troops running around so you're bound to get some decent kills. I did experiment with the gas canisters myself after clearing the warehouse level, trying to take out the enemy with my rifle alone. Worked to some extent lol. It will be exciting to have to incorporate these attack styles into a game which already displays its focus on cover and a certain amount of tactical execution... One thing that irks me right now is that the enemy are spawning in the exact same spot time after time (takes nothing away from the game really). It would be nice to expect a little variation to keep it interesting for multiple play through's. I guess though that with multiplayer being available on or offline and with bots, this should alleviate those concerns for me.
Oh yeah, you were right about the steroids to...

The physics in Killzone 2 is pretty impressive, for example i shot a gas canister once at the release tap (works at the bottom) then gas suddenly started to steam out and then the gas set alight and then shot across the floor then blew up, PERFECT for a timed explosion!
I also noticed to keep the player from being bored, Guerilla have incorporated the six-axis and you can move the screen from left to right and slightly up and down.
The controls are easily mastered if changed to alternative 2. And feels like COD4 but with a greater amount of realism with the reload animation.
That being said, the 1st time i played this and when you just finished fighting the helgast on the battle ground, Rico's body sunk beneath the map and only his head was showing, the only thing i could do was to restart from the beginning, but did this matter? Hell no, that game in all honesty is the best looking and the best game play for an FPS game in history.

Loved everything about this sneak peek. At first I played the default control scheme as previous reviewers had commented on its fidgety zoom/aiming control. Yes I found it awkward at first but got used to it in no time. After a couple of play throughs I investigated the other controller maps and discovered "Alternate 2" (I think). For all of us who enjoy the C.O.D games not to mention the majority of FPS's out there, this is where it's at.
The aiming button is mapped to L1 with R1 still to shoot. Easily adopted as your combat functions and cover system are all handled by the shoulder buttons (except for melee being R3). Sprint is easily adopted using L3 etc....
I'm addicted already. Need another hit...
Looks brilliant, plays like a dream and I can't wait for Feb 27!!!
If you don't buy this game then you're a fu#%en idiot!!!
