Posting on the official European PlayStation Blog, Guerrilla Games producer Seb Downie has said the studio will take a break from Killzone 2 following the release of the game's third DLC pack, Napalm & Cordite.

"Right now we’re going to take a step back from Killzone 2," said Downie. "We’ve been working non-stop since the disc version was released on patches, DLC and http://www.killzone.com updates, so need some time to reflect on what is actually out there."

Whether this means the end of new content for Killzone 2 remains to be seen.

The Napalm & Cordite DLC pack will be released today on the PlayStation Store. For those yet to purchase the previous two DLC packs, Sony will also be offering all three in what it has imaginatively titled the Map Pack Bundle. Pricing details will be announced later today.

There is not a problem with the controls. people are just to use to call of Duty. I will admit when I played the Demo i took a step back and went "well this is weird" Give it the first few missions, then go play CoD and you will do what I did and go "WoW CoD has weird controls"

But if you dont give them a chance then you are missing out on one of the best FPS games this gen, and I would say the best Online Console FPS this Gen.

I can understand that people might have an issue with the 'weighty' controls, but they provide a good alternative to the usual run & gun FPS controls. Guerrilla also added a responsiveness level, allowing you to alter the acceleration of movement.

The lobby/party system has also been 'fixed', enabling friends to join the same team even if team balancing is on. Friends will also remain on the same side and squad when a new game starts.

Not sure what your problem with the spawn grenades is, but they offer a certain 'tactical' element, which can swing a battle. If they are poorly utilized, then they can also be a hindrance to your team.

The game has come a long way since it launched due to Guerrilla listening to players observations and requests. I'm not trying to make you like the game, I'm just highlighting the work that has gone into improving it and why I personally like it so much.

They deserve this break.. who knows maybe they want to focus on Killzone 3?? or liberation 2? who knows. Guerilla did a fantastic job with KZ2, it's just a shame that I traded in that beauty.. ugh now I regret it.. it was my first purchase for the ps3 :(

"The controls can be adjusted to almost match COD."... Not what ppl are referring to when the "bitch" about the controls -- have to do with the acceleration or dead-zone or whatever you want to call it with respect to responsiveness.

A lot people like it, but for me I could never make the adjustment, despite practice. Aiming down the sites of an assault rifle is practically useless for me... Other problems with the MP too such as those ridiculous "spawn" grenades, crappy lobby/party system etc... and just the general way people play didn't seem too "tactical" to me...

They deserve the break. Still playing this game all the time. I think I've put 150 hours into the online mode.

I wanted this game so bad before it came out. Wanted to like it so much when it did come out. Just can't get into it. Will force myself for trophies sake.

The controls can be adjusted to almost match COD. I only ever had problems with the initial control configuration, the patches have sorted out any problems that might have existed.

I found the single player to be a little underwhelming, the multiplayer however, blew me away. It has the best class system on any console game. It also looks the nuts.

I liked the single player a lot - very cinematic and atmospheric.

The controls unfortunately, I could never adjust to (even with the new updates)... Yeah, call me a noob or whatever, but the controller just doesn't provide the feedback needed for me for "weighty" shooter controls... I prefer 1:1 controls for my FPSs... (and the map packs a bit of a rip-off)...

I will return back to Killzone 2 but not online. I don't play it enough online so getting the map packs in my position would be a waste of money.

Killzone 2 has been my favorite online shooter since launch. Support for the game has been non-stop from Guerrilla so I think they deserve a break. It's a shame that it never became the big hit that it should have.

Hopefully they will start work on Killzone 3 soon.

Haven't played this in a while, doubt I will ever go back to it.
