A public beta for the PS3 shooter is a cert, but unlikely to launch this year.
Sony Computer Entertainment America's Alex Armour has confirmed to PSU that a Killzone 2 beta is very much in the platform holder's plans but gamers shouldn't expect to see it this year.
"We are hoping to do a beta but I don't think we'll have anything ready before this year is over... it is something we are working on for next year," said Armour.
Unfortunately Armour wasn't able to offer any further info, but promised expanded beta details "soon".
Killzone 2 is shaping up to be the Halo killer Sony wanted the first game in the series to be, having blown away the video game press with its visuals. At this time no firm release date has been confirmed, although it is expected at some time in 2008.
