Welcome to Heads-up, VideoGamer.com's weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you'll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Tuesday we'll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday's post. Time to splash the cash.

Recommended: inFamous - PS3
Sucker Punch's exclusive PlayStation 3 open-world superhero game finally hits retail stores this week, and it's well worth a look. While it takes a little while to get going, and electricity isn't the most exciting power to be given, the game really comes to life in the second half and features some superb action-packed moments. Had the storyline been a bit more engaging, the characters more fleshed out and the missions more diverse, inFamous could have been one of the PS3's defining games. It's not, but it's still a lot of fun.

Also worth a look
Of the rest of the bunch three stand out as being potentially worth your hard-earned cash. Boom Blox Bash Party is the follow-up to EA's entertaining original Wii game. We've yet to get our hands on the final game, which is why this isn't in the recommended section, but we're expecting it to be very good indeed. Guitar Hero: Metallica is essentially more of the same, but there's an extra challenge for drummers (if you buy a second pedal) and Metallica fans are likely to get a kick out of playing some of the band's most famous tracks. Virtua Tennis 2009 hits Xbox 360 and PS3 this week, too, so if you're a long-time fan of the arcade sports series it's worth putting aside some cash for what will inevitably be an entertaining game.

Work for a retailer, who shall remain nameless. We have had literally no pre-orders for any of those titles. Perhaps a couple for virtua tennis at a push!
