What they should really do is create an option to use your avatar or not, say if you and your buddies want to go into a game straight away then they should have a normal lobby room before launching into a game without the need to be in avatar form or even in home for that matter, I find it kinda pointless to launch an application like Home to just meet up with buddies and then launch into a game, should be able to do it without the need for Home.

I only have 2 PS 3 game titles and I am only playing one of them. definitely looking forward to this new HOME thingy. Hoping to get to know more PS 3 gamers and rule GTA IV online with them.
