Good news for PS3 owners hoping for more from Sony’s online virtual world Home. An “exciting new Home space” is coming from nDreams, the creator of now finished alternate reality game Xi.

The news comes from CEO Patrick O'Luanaigh’s Twitter page, in which he wrote: “Off on holiday this week, but our next Home space should be out on Thursday.... should be fun ;)”

No details have been offered on what the new space will contain, but O'Luanaigh has said in a subsequent Tweet that nDreams' “new ARG is nothing to do with Home”. We should find out soon enough though, with O'Luanaigh stating that a preview is expected “next week”.

Xi, which ran from April to June this year, was the world’s first console-based ARG.

Although Home has delivered an average community environment at best, it still lacks the appeal in my book. I am especially dissapointed with the golf game. What utter crap...

It will be some time before we see Home become an essential PS3 tool. Until then I will steer well clear.

probably be another mystery thing. It got boring after a bit. hopefully this new space would add more usefull functionality. Thats what they should be focusing on.
