Sony expands the PlayStation Home Closed Beta test into summer 2008.
Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. has announced that it will expand the Closed Beta program for PlayStation Home in Summer 2008, inviting new registrants to join. Following the completion of the expanded Closed Beta, the PlayStation Home Open Beta service will commence in Fall 2008.
"We understand that we are asking PS3 and prospective PS3 users to wait a bit longer, but we have come to the conclusion that we need more time to refine the service to ensure a more focused gaming entertainment experience than what it is today," said Kazuo Hirai, President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.
Details of the Closed Beta, including registration for the test and opening of the service will be announced when the information becomes available.

You know, the games industry is the fastest growing out there, doing better than music and film. However, I often wonder why they keep shooting themselves in the foot, giving a bad impression and just being quite useless at meeting deadlines!!
Sooner or later there is gonna be a boycott.... Mark my words. I mean when was the last time a game came out on time, considering when it was originally announced?

Its pretty much a Sony Trait. If they say a date add a few months and you'll get somewhere near the true release date.
Reminds me of that triick, think of a number add 6 multiply by 2 then take away the number you first started with . . . .
