Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock News

Activision has announced that, in a monumental first for the gaming and music industries, Metallica's highly anticipated ninth studio album, Death Magnetic, will be available in its entirety as downloadable content for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock day and date with the album release on September 12.

Featured on the downloadable album will be two Guitar Hero exclusive renditions of "Suicide & Redemption" with extended solos by James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett. The album will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3 priced 1440 MS Points and $17.99 respectively, and is forward compatible with Guitar Hero World Tour when it launches in October.

In addition to the two exclusive versions of "Suicide & Redemption," Guitar Hero fans will get to perform "That Was Just Your Life," "The End of the Line," "Broken, Beat & Scared," "The Day That Never Comes," "All Nightmare Long," "Cyanide," "The Unforgiven III," "The Judas Kiss" and "My Apocalypse."

"We've been working very closely with Metallica and we're extremely excited to offer Death Magnetic not only in its entirety, but also with the exclusive recordings of 'Suicide & Redemption' as downloadable content to Guitar Hero fans," said Tim Riley, Vice President of Music Affairs for Activision Blizzard. "We're proud to be setting a new precedent for our two industries, making an entire new album available in two different mediums simultaneously."

Metallica's Death Magnetic album will be available for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock on September 12, 2008.

you know I love it when I hear people say that Metallica sucks and that they only liked the first four CD's / Records...you know these are the same people that if Metallica made all the records like the first four they would be crying that all of there records sound the same.....I mean the band has been around for 25 years people..i mean they are going to have some different sounds.....I mean move on and get on with your life...they are just a band.....and if you don't buy there new CD then you are a fool because it is KICK AZZ...but I do love it because you all would so be the people crying and saying oh all there cd's sound the same & saying or what can't you come out with something different......hey it's your lose because there new CD ROCKS and now don't you go out and buy it because remember you said Metallica sucks..so just pop in your New Kids on the Block tape and jam on .. lol later dumb azz
