Grand Theft Auto IV episodes confirmed for PS3/PC
Will be available at retail and to download from March 30, 2010.
Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City is to be released for PS3 and Games for Windows PC on March 30. This retail release will not require a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV.
The two episodes - The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony - will also be available to download individually on the PlayStation Network and Games for Windows - LIVE on March 30, 2010. To play an individual episode a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV is required.
"It's been a long time coming, but we are proud to finally deliver Episodes From Liberty City for the PC and PlayStation 3," said Sam Houser. "We appreciate the patience of our PlayStation 3 and PC fans worldwide, and we look forward to putting the games in your hands this March."
The Lost and Damned is a dark trip through Liberty City’s seedy underbelly as outlaw biker, Johnny Klebitz, fights to keep his gang together as a rift in the gang's leadership threatens to tear the brotherhood apart. In The Ballad of Gay Tony, players explore Liberty City’s high-end nightlife as Luis Lopez, struggling to balance the temptations of money and vice against loyalties to family and friends.
The episodes had been exclusively available on Xbox 360.

Multiplat "exclusives" are bullsh!t. Agreed. I don't think there will ever be a vanilla flavoured norm so long as companies are in competition though.
Exclusives need to be treated as such and take thier place as something unique and outside of the multiplat arena. Until Sony and Microsoft team up and produce the SoxBoxy, we can be certain that devs will try and get the best out of the tech they have.

Do the two episodes feature less socialising with friends and girlfriends?

Exclusive games are fair enough and provide healthy competition but I do agree that all this timed exclusive stuff is total junk - it just leaves bad tastes in peoples mouths.

If a whole game is going to be exclusive, then fine. But I find pointless if someone is going to release a game on two consoles and then release the DLC on only one of them. It's understandable from a business sense, but it just pi**es off us gamers.

Bioshock, Fallout 3 DLC and GTA4 DLC were all 'exclusives'.
As a PS3 owner, I'm looking forward to this. It looks more entertaining than the main GTA4 game.
