Sony's confirmed that a pretty hefty Gran Turismo 5 Prologue update is scheduled to roll-out on August 1, 2008. The update is largely to accommodate the new Gran Turismo TV service, which will offer GT5P gamers the choice of free and pay-per-view automobile programming - such as Top Gear and Japan's Best Motoring video magazine.
For the first two weeks all pay-per-view video content will be offered for $0.99. After this period content will start at $1.99.
In addition to GT TV the update will include a host of gameplay enhancements, such as fixes in penalty judgments, more tire choices for Time Trial and improved physics during collisions in online races.
