Sony clarifies GT5 demo

A 'self contained demo based on GT5 code'.

Following Sony Computer Entertainment's earlier announcement that Gran Turismo Academy 2010 will feature a downloadable time trial track from Gran Turismo 5, SCE UK has confirmed to VideoGamer.com that said download will be using Gran Turismo 5 game code.

A SCE UK spokesperson said that the download is a "self contained demo based on GT5 code," hopefully clearing up any confusion over exactly what is being offered.

The demo will be available to download via the PlayStation Store from December 17, 2009.

This clears up absolutely nothing for me. In fact, I'm now confused as to what I'll be playing. More brilliant PR from SCEE.

It probably makes it less clear, to be honest! The track is firstly there as a time trial for a competition. The fact that it uses the Gran Turismo 5 code will mean that some (many) people will also download it as a preview of what GT5 will be like, rather than to enter the competition.

Doesn't clear anything up for me is it a finished GT5 demo or a self contained tech demo using GT5 code?
