Gran Turismo creator wants more power
GT5 created 'within the confines' of the PS3's ability.
Kaz Yamauchi, creator of the Gran Turismo franchise, has revealed there's even more he wants to put into Gran Turismo 5, but can't because of the hardware limitations of the PS3.
"Software has to be created under the restriction of the hardware," the Polyphony boss told Esquire UK. "With each new PlayStation, the vessel has become bigger, but its still not enough.
"With Gran Turismo 5 we've made it as clean and beautiful as possible within the confines of the space we're given - but of course there's a lot more that we want to put in."
Gran Turismo 5 is expected to finally arrive in stores before Christmas.

VideoGamer.com Analysis
Given the time Yamauchi and his team have taken to complete Gran Turismo 5, it's fairly safe to assume he knows the limitations of the PS3 quite well.
Talk of needing more power to achieve what he wants, suggests we might not see the inevitable Gran Turismo 6 until the release of the PS3's successor.

I find it difficult to believe that one videogame written has already reached the limits already. I recall Criterion stating that you can never max out a games console as later on, you all always find a way of writing more efficient code

Don't get me wrong i own every GT game & version from ps1 to date & i have loved every game but still find 3 better than 4 & after 5 yrs / 3yr wait since prologue this feels like the last game we get for Ps3 & that sounds crazy. I hope the gt mode is as open as 3 was because 4 became a slog towards the end to get cash & upgrade car to win 1 race , rinse & repeat .
My hopes are high & this just seems to murky the water & its like here comes the excuses as to why this & why that even before it hits the shelf.
