Gran Turismo 6 is in development, but series producer isn't ready to announce a release date

Gran Turismo 6 is in development, but we're not likely to hear news on its release date until the game is pretty much guaranteed to meet that date, series producer Kazunori Yamauchi told a crowd at this weekend's Gran Turismo 5 Asia Championship 2012 event (via Andriasang).

Asked about a release date, Yamauchi said: "If I carelessly say when it will be released, you'll end up with people saying things like 'it's been delayed again!?' so I will no longer say at this type of event."

That's probably a sensible move given the Gran Turismo 5 release date saga.

They have nothing to worry about - the patch that adds in premium tree graphics won't be added in until long after Forza XXXIV...

Allegedly the Forza team are a tiny bit concerned that the estimated release of Gran Turismo 6 might put a dent in sales of Forza XXII.
