Gran Turismo 5 News

For:PS3 Release Date: 24 November 2010

No longer on track for a March release in Japan.

Sony has announced it will be unable to meet its previously planned March 31 Japanese release date for the hugely anticipated Gran Turismo 5 on PS3, citing production-related matters. A revised release date has not been announced.

The PS3 driving simulator is yet to be given a firm release date outside of Japan, but the latest delay doesn't bode well for a swift Western debut.

Sony need to get on the blower to Kaz and tell him to stop fannying about with 25 hour endurance races and get to making this f*cking game. Any time after the last week in May would be preferable.

This is indeed a shame :(

Oh and the Damage model is on all cars, and around 180 cars will feature in Car damage which is epic!

As an aside-issue, I've never liked the racist aspect to such huge delays - a lot of Western games are released worldwide ASAP, yet Japanese companies don't really give a stuff about anyone but themselves. Combined with the supposed xenophobia of retailers refusing to stock westerndeveloped games and technology - it just really annoys me. That's what put me off Sony, in part, in favour of Microsoft this gen.

Last I heard was that they implemented damagage modelling but that it's pretty half arsed. Anyone know if this is actually the case? Maybe they're improving on this?

With the nascar , wrc licence & damage model they have had to incorporate since last yr i am not that shocked with delay but more relieved that its being polished to perfection to put the occasionally bland looking Forza back in its place .

True. However, as it is coming out in Japan before US and UK. They would delay the US and UK verisons as well, easily see it happen.

Well, European version isn't delayed at least.

Though that's only because they never set a date in the first place...
