Our hottest picks for the year ahead.

2009 is done and dusted, but there's an awful lot to look forward to in 2010. Over the next week we'll bring you our 50 most anticipated games of the year. It's fair to say that gamers appear to be in for quite a treat in 2010, should most of these titles make their expected release dates and deliver on their early promise. The year will bring everything from MMOs and single-player JRPGs to mature adventure games and visceral first-person shooters. Read on for games 30-21. 30. Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands - Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, DS, PSP, May

We liked the last Prince of Persia game. Sure, it wasn't for everyone, but for us it was a beautifully animated forward roll through pixel perfect platforming goodness. It seems however, that Ubisoft Montreal would prefer to start again… again, and rekindle the Sands story arc. What do we know? Ubi says: "Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is the next chapter in the fan-favourite Sands of Time universe. Visiting his brother’s kingdom following his adventure in Azad, the Prince finds the royal palace under siege from a mighty army bent on its destruction." It'll "feature many of the fan-favourite elements from the original series as well as new gameplay innovations". Yeah, yeah, but will it be any good?

29. Medal of Honor - Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Autumn

EA doesn't like Call of Duty. It's jealous, understandably, of its ridiculous success. It wants to kill it. Kill it good. It wants to kill it, eat it, throw it up, and then kill it again. And its weapon in this very modern video game war will be Medal of Honor. The recently released trailer knocked our socks off (it was, apparently, "100% in-game footage"), and the game's cover star, a "Tier One Operator" soldier working under the National Command Authority, has a wicked beard, but the multiplayer excites us most. Why? It's being developed by Battlefield kings DICE. Will MoH kick CoD's arse? Will Batman escape the rubber shark? Fall 2010 will tell us.

I hope it is Story Heavy Iv got a lot of time for Treyarch they are like the CoD Bastard Child no one really talks about till they do some thing special and they get a pat on the back till they go back into the slum of making another special project (A Game Btw )

It's looking rather likely that the next COD game will be a Treyarch effort set in Vietnam.

I have nothing against Treyarch, I quite enjoyed World at War (the multiplayer maps are better than MW 1&2), so I'm looking forward to whatever they do next with the COD franchise.

Crackdown 2 is absolutely disgusting because it's not realtime worlds who are doing it, it's another dundee company who are working on it who just happen to work 10 minutes away from Realtime Worlds and from what i was told, Realtime are NOT happy at Microsoft.

Call it something else, just not Crackdown 2.

holy buhjeezus the new Medal of Honor looks awesome. To tell the truth i always have been more of a MoH man than a CoD man.

And cataclysm. Many more hours of my life down the drain.
And Bioshock 2, which now that i've started the 1st one (god bless Steam sales) i am quite excited indeed for it.

I'm suprised that Bioshock 2 and GT5 are this far down the list. There must be some corkers coming up!

GOW3 - I'll let you guys choose which one you are most excited about - Gears or God!

Edit - I really hope the Prince of Persia is a return to SOT style gameplay - I enjoyed the last one but I wasn't blown away by the gameplay.

I'm really looking forward to Ghost Recon this year too!

I thought GT5, especially after the GT Academy Time Trial, would have been a lot higher up than mid twenties, but the list will have some great games on it. I wonder if there will be any suprise hits this year that don't come from this list.

I actually preferred the last Prince of Persia game. I did like the whole "she pulls you up when you fall off a ledge" aspect, since even with all the advances, there are still those times where the perspective is all enough for stupid mistakes to happen in all those types of games. I don't mind dying in games, but its extremely frustrating when your character jumps left instead of straight. They should have let you died in battle though.

My biggest frustration with that game wasn't Ubisofts fault though, it was one of the first games I played on the Xbox, so those quicktime events in battle really screwed me up because I didn't quite have that extra sense as to where the buttons were. Especially the X, since both Xbox and PS controllers have one, and in different spots.

Wow, you could have tole me that all of these were in the Top 20 and I would have believed you.
Medal of Honour, Bioshock 2, Crackdown 2, SSFIV, how the hell aren't these closer to the top?
I can't wait for the Top 10.
My top is definitely Splinter Cell Conviction.
