Welcome to Heads-up, VideoGamer.com's weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you'll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Tuesday we'll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday's post. Time to splash the cash.

Recommended: Fight Night Round 4 - Xbox 360 and PS3
EA's Fight Night Round 3 follow-up has been a long time coming, but it's been worth the wait. Although boxing might seem a tad old hat compared to the ultra violent UFC, this is a fine simulation of the sport and it just so happens to have some of the best visuals we've seen from this generation of consoles. From our time with the game we've spent almost as long drooling over slow motion replays and zooming in on the devastating blows to the face as we have actually playing.

Also worth a look

There are more new releases this week than we can remember hitting stores in quite some time, and there are a fair few that are worth a look. Another Code: R should please Wii owners who have a fondness for DS adventure game Hotel Dusk, ANNO 1404 is the latest entry in the PC strategy series, Far Cry 2 comes to the Xbox 360 and PS3 budget range making it more or less an essential purchase, Greatest Hits gives us some of the best Guitar Hero tracks with full band play and Overlord arrives on Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii. The big gamble is Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. We've been pleased by what we've seen up to now, but it could go either way when we get our hands on final review code.
