PS3 version is being made first, which will then be ported to the Xbox 360.
GameSpot reports that a video shown at Square Enix's DK Sigma3173 Event revealed further info regarding the development of Final Fantasy XIII on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 - notably that development of the Xbox 360 version has not yet begun.
The video was shot by series designer Tetsuya Nomura who posed questions to Final Fantasy XIII director Motomu Toriyama.
"We haven't changed the direction of the development. We're making the PS3 version first, and then porting to the 360 later," said Toriyama.
Given that the game is to be released outside of Japan on both PS3 and Xbox 360 simultaneously it suggests the release will be held back until the Xbox 360 version is ready. No Xbox 360 version has been confirmed for Japan so Japanese gamers are unlikely to face the same delay.
Toriyama also revealed that as of July 29, 2008 no Xbox 360 development tools had been received.
"I'm telling them to not think about the Xbox 360 right now," said Toriyama. "We can think about it after the development kits arrive."
He continued: "We aren't going to change any specifications [of FFXIII] because of the multi-platform announcement... Right now, we're fully concentrating on the PS3 version."

Thats positive :) Not because we get it first, but the original FF fans like myself will get the full potential out of the system by it not being a port. 360 Owners will still get there potential aswell im sure.

haha my only question is when will microsoft stop trying to buy themselves victory they scream and yell about thier exclusives, but how much blood money have they paid for them.
they paid for early release of rock band 2 not that itll change much due to it beinf just before xmas season and people will look thier for the funds to buy that expensive piece of cash in on GH game.
ans then thiers the thing of lets release our games on PC aswell which unless ur impatient is nice Mass effect was a beautiful game on both but i like the PC version better( no glitches for me :D) and Gears was horrendous i thought but ppl slap me for saying that
but alas i still find it hilarious that the wii is beating the socks of both of them especially since it has no fantastic games

IM PISSED OFF THAT WE HAVE 2 W8 UNTIL IT COMES TO THE 360 AND MOST XBOX 360 PLAYERS DONT CARE ONE BIT 4 FF COMING TO THE 360 THEY CARE ABOUT FABLE 2 COMING OUT AND OTHERS
