EA might pursue separate license for Rangers Newco in FIFA 13
FIFA 13 will include license for Scottish Premier League, but that doesn't include the newly formed Rangers Newco.
Rangers Newco, the team formed from the ashes of Glasgow Rangers football club, might not be in FIFA 13, EA has confirmed to Nintendo Gamer.
Fans of Rangers football club have been through a bad time recently, what with their team going into administration, forming a new company, losing most of their best players, and starting life again in the Scottish Third Division. The club no longer having a guaranteed spot in FIFA 13 is the icing on a very sour tasting stale cake.
"We have a licensing agreement with the Scottish Premier League. We have discussed the league structure with them and we will take their direction regarding the 12th club. FIFA 13 will be in retail stores beginning September 28 – after the start of the SPL season – so we have the flexibility to align with the authentic league structure," said EA.
"As far as Glasgow Rangers are concerned, we have not made a decision at this time on whether we will pursue a separate licensing agreement to include them in FIFA 13," continued the spokesperson.
FIFA 13 is due for release on all major platforms on September 28.

Rangers still need to accept the fine and transfer ban dished out to the old company before they are even allowed to play in Division 3. With the players left, i.e. not enough for a 5-a-side team, and a transfer ban I imagine EA would be better off spending the license money on something else.
The club still has to accept SFA punishments before it is even allowed in Division 3.
And the 12th club is Dundee... although Dunfermline are seeking legal advice about that one. Next week in Scottish Football...
