ps3 final hardware 1 -

It's all a bit of an anticlimax really. The March 23 date and £425 price point have been what people in the know have been saying for weeks, if not months, but now it's official. Also as expected, the 20GB model won't be available at launch, with Sony saying that it might arrive towards the end of the year, depending on demand. 1 million consoles will be available across Europe for the launch period, but no exact number for the UK has been released.

As for which games you'll be able to pick up with your new console, Sony claims that over 30 games will be on offer, although this is a mixture of retail and downloadable titles from the PlayStation Store. Titles confirmed for launch (note, that's not the same as day 1), include Sony's MotorStorm, Resistance and Formula One Championship Edition, plus games from Electronic Arts, Activision, Namco Bandai, Sega, Take 2, Ubisoft, Vivendi Games, and Sony Online Entertainment.

"Following the hugely successful launches of PS3 in Japan and North America, we are absolutely delighted to be able to bring significant numbers of PS3 to the UK," said Ray Maguire, SVP and MD of SCEUK. "To be able to launch with over 30 titles including retail versions and great downloadable gaming experiences across every genre shows that this is our strongest launch line-up in the history of PlayStation, and is what PlayStation fans in the UK have been crying out for."

Sony has always put inferior materials in their european products.
Even latly the psp in europe has a different screen that the rest of the world. It is not as sharpe a picture by a long way.
And not to mention the ps3. There are 600,000 sitting on the shelves round the world because supply is outwieghing demand. And still us in europe have no ps3.
When sony start showing loyalty to europe then people will be loyal in return.

I just cancelled my PS3 pre order as I think xbox 360 mark 2 with pc connectivity is ideal. Linux is Sony's answer! (not good) Sony has missed the boat with this one as xbox is too far ahead now and Sony has neglected the european market too many times which shows no respect to us european buyers. Both consoles have had problems and the xbox 360 will be the more reliable now. Can't believe this has happened as I loved the PS2 but that was when exclusive games like GTA were on PS2. Lots of articals saying the pre order for PS3 is falling short and many of those are ebayers looking to sell at inflated prices. They will get a shock when they find out ebay is flooded and nobody is buying even at normal price! If you are sensible you should take my advice and wait it out a bit longer to see how it goes at the launch of the PS3 and buy an xbox mark 2 if you want a console now.

Yes that and the fact that the 360 is less than half the price!
And the 360 is still a great console.

it seems that no-one could wait for a next-gen console rushed out and the xbox 360. That's why the ps3 isn't selling well

with only 220,000 in the first shipment they will be impossible to get hold of! And no news of when the second shipment Will come. Might be 2008 before you can go to a shop and buy one without being on some Pre-order short list.
