The console war is fought everywhere these days, but the internet seems to be where people are most vocal. It also serves to give each console its own set of downloadable content, fuelling the war even more. Each week we'll give you a run-down of what's available to download on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii, and declare a winner.
Note: This round-up is based on UK releases to each console's online service. Releases outside of the UK could vary.
PlayStation 3 - PSN
Headlining the PSN this week are three new PlayStation games. Motorhead and Fade to Black are fondly remembered by VideoGamer.com staff, with Motorhead in particular being something of an underrated gem. Developed by Digital Illusions CE (DICE), the studio now famous for the Battlefield series of games, Motorhead looked great back in 1998 and offered an alternative to big name racers like Ridge Racer and WipEout.
Fade to Black is the follow-up to cult classic Flashback, but it ditched the 2D side-scrolling gameplay in favour of a more modern 3D engine and over the shoulder third-person gameplay. Memories of awkward controls are lessened somewhat by fonder memories of great moments, making the game well worth a look. We weren't such big fans of Theme Hospital, but it's worth a look for anyone wanting an interactive ER fix.
Demos for MX vs ATV: Untamed and Devil May Cry round of a fairly impressive content list, although both demos are already available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
This week's PSN line-up is
Fade to Black: £3.49
Theme Hospital: £3.49
