Dead or Alive 5 Plus, the upcoming PlayStation Vita version of last year’s swimsuit-fighter, will run at 60 frames per second, Tecmo Koei has confirmed.

The frame rate means that the game will run at an identical rate as both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, and allow Vita players to compete against players on PlayStation 3.

Cross-platform play means that players can compete in battles across the two consoles, with Tecmo ensuring that there will be “no lag or slowdown even when playing on different devices”.

An icon next to the player’s health bar will show which platform either player is playing on.

Saves, DLC and unlocked content can also be transferred across devices, meaning those Santa outfits you bought for the PS3 version will also be accessible via the Vita game.

Any new stages released for the PlayStation 3 version in the future will also be available for the Vita version.

In addition to cross-platform play and shared data, the Vita version also contains new training modes and a bizarre touch-based first-person mode.

Dead or Alive 5 Plus launches on PlayStation Vita on March 22.
