Next month's Dark Souls 2 beta will not be available on Xbox 360 or PC, Namco Bandai has confirmed to VideoGamer.com.

Instead, the beta will remain exclusive to PlayStation 3.

Namco Bandai opened sign ups for the closed beta yesterday and confirmed that players will be invited in two waves: one wave on October 12 and the second on October 27.

Players interested in signing up for the beta can do so through the PlayStation Store or by heading here.

Dark Souls 2 launches on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in March 2014.

Put over 250 hours into Demon's and Dark Souls. Dark Souls II is my most anticipated game pretty much ever, the wait till March is unbearable so I really hope I get into the beta.

That was due to a publishing deal with Sony, not to any preference for a certain console at From Software.

I imagine having the beta on one console makes things a lot easier for them and probably there were more Dark Souls players on PS3 than Xbox 360 and PC. That would be my guess.

Maybe it is to show faith in it's original console (I am talking about demon soul's being on ps3 only)
