UK Video Game Chart: DiRT 3 can't crack LA Noire
DiRT 3 outpaces its predecessor, but has to settle for second in the chart.
Rockstar's LA Noire has made it two weeks at the top (a 43 per cent drop off) to deny Codemasters' excellent rallying sequel DiRT 3 from claiming the All Formats All Prices UK video game chat No.1.
DiRT 3 took a huge 67 per cent of sales on Xbox 360, but despite the sales discrepancy between platforms (possibly exaggerated because of PSN issues) the game managed to outclass first week figures for DiRT 2.
LEGO Pirates continues to show it's not ready to walk the plank, slipping to third, followed by Zumba Fitness (sales up 19 per cent) at No.5 and Brink at No.5.
Wii Sports Resort is up 145 per cent to No.6, FIA 11 took full advantage of the Champions League promotions to climb to No.7 on the back of a 50 per cent sales spike, Black Ops is up to No.8, Crysis 2 slides to No.9 and Mario Kart Wii is up a hefty 148 per cent to No.10.
Besides DiRT 3, there were no other new entries inside the Top 40.

We really felt strong reviews and good word of mouth, plus a Tuesday release, would ensure DiRT 3 made the All Formats No.1, but LA Noire proved too strong a contender. With the release schedule looking slim this Friday, Bethesda's Hunted: The Demon's Forge has found itself an ideal week to launch.
