'Working diligently' to sort out bugs.
Texture problems with the PS3 demo of BioShock "slipped by" 2K Games, the publisher has admitted.
In a post over at the 2K Games forums, community manager Elizabeth Tobey said that the publisher is "looking into replicating and seeing what we can do" about various reported bugs and issues which have lead to long threads across gaming forums.
The PS3 version of BioShock, due out on October 24, has come in for a degree of criticism from some gamers for its level of graphical detail compared with the Xbox 360 version. It appears that the texture on one Big Daddy in particular isn't up to scratch in the PS3 demo, available on PSN now.
Back in July 2K Games senior producer Melissa Miller told us that the publisher was concentrating on matching, not bettering the visuals seen in the Xbox 360 version.
Over at the 2K Games forum, Tobey said: "First, I want to thank you for the acute attention to detail and the Spartan level of expectation our most devoted BioShock fans hold us to, and how excited you are and attentive to the BioShock PS3 demo. When we saw a post asking about issues found in the demo, we jumped on it immediately. And you know what, you're right. The texture in the PS3 demo of the downed Big Daddy does not match our level of quality either. This slipped by. We admit it. However, I want to assure you that this is an exception, and not a rule, and while I regret this oversight, we put a lot of love into making this game look amazing for the PS3 and I'm sure that when you play the rest of the demo you will agree that the textures are not all like this one instance.
"As for the other issues and concerns, we are currently diligently working to replicate any bugs, and will report back to you with what we find. Thank you for your vigilance here and moving forward."
Look out for a review soon.

I obviously don't pay enough attention as I didn't notice it when I played the demo.

I ave both the 360 version and the PS3 demo and im using a 42" samsung hdtv 1080p and i have to admit that, though as u say its not drastic, everything just looks that much better on the 360 version- but its not game breaking and PS3 owners will be used to this kind of stuff n e way, i mean after all u will only be getting it if u didnt get it on pc/360 presumably because u dont have one...and if u do get the 360 version simple!!
