Problems with PS3 version force developers to abandon project in favour of Wii version.
Pro-G recently reported that a Namco Bandai fact-sheet listed only the Xbox 360 as the release platform for Beautiful Katamari, suggesting that the previously announced PS3 title had been cancelled.
It's now been revealed by sources close to Namco Bandai that PS3 development has been dropped in favour of the Wii. IGN states that the development team ran into trouble with the Beautiful Katamari port from Xbox 360 to PS3. This, coupled with the slow sales of PS3, resulted in the game's cancellation.
Namco Bandai is now said to be working on bringing the game to Wii, although technical restrictions mean it won't be a direct port of the Xbox 360 title.
Nothing has been officially confirmed by Namco Bandai, but IGN states that its well-placed sources say the info is "100 percent reliable".
