VideoGamer.com Analysis
The VIP Map Pack releases are offered free to VIP players on PC and console (redeemable code with new purchases) making this a great addition to the game.
It's also commendable to see DICE show continued support for its six-million selling hit, especially given the recent release of Medal of Honor and the imminent launch of the Vietnam expansion.

What better way to promote the Vietnam expansion than to offer something quality for free just beforehand? I wonder about any official word on the release myself...
@ Thompo: I bought Onslaught on release and have had some fun with it since. I haven't visited it for a while but I have had a fair bit to occupy me I'll admit. There were issues I found with lag making your munitions duds and not scoring hits on targets (as in shoot someone and nothing happens, inanimate objects can not be destroyed etc.) but simply finding another game or hosting one for friends fixed this. I'm not sure what the cost is these days but It's worth having if you like the game and like to challenge yourself. It can get a bit repetitive however you can always change tactics and play as hard and fast as you like. You can even take on any level solo if you like...
A few times now me and another guy would just run around getting kills with little concern for he timer. The idea is to get quicker level clearances each time but sometimes it is just fun taking the sniper rifle out for a run or racking up some long range kills with the XM8. Voice chat isn't essential either but as with the normal MP, it adds to the game and allows some good tactical maneuvering and/ or trash talk.
When you apply it as intended it is well worth the effort. Just don't expect Onslaught's appeal to keep you for as long as the original multiplayer game modes.
When and if you do pick it up, feel free to invite me to a game sometime. I remember having some decent Hardcore games with you in the past :)

Might get me back to it full time before Veitnam which will be a blast! Might get Onslaught (or whatever the co-op thing is called) as well, who recomends it?

So happy with this, been playing it a lot the part month and I've been thinking it needed more open maps.

So, are Cold War and Heavy Metal completely new multiplayer maps then?
