PlayStation 3 owners of Ubisoft's upcoming liberty-em-up Assassin's Creed III will get an extra hour of exclusive English-thrashing action when the game launches this October.

Details of this exclusive content are shown on Amazon's updated PlayStation 3 packshot of the game, spotted by CVG.

There's currently no specific knowledge of what the exclusive content will actually entail.

Sony confirmed that Assassin's Creed III would be getting PS3-exclusive content as part of its E3 2012 press conference.

Assassin's Creed III will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 31. A PC version will arrive later.

I think Ubi-Soft have always done exclusives for Sony when it comes to the Assassin's Creed franchise.
No idea why everyone is surprised as if Ubisoft have only just done this with this franchsie.
The last one I can remember was the copernicus conspiracy on Brotherhood which was quite good actually.

I think Assassin's Creed 2 on the PS3 had Templer locations as well, but can't remember if it was on 360 as well or not.

I doubt the VIP's in publishers just wake up one morning and think "hmm, you know what would be a good idea? Console exlcusive content, in multiplaftorm game!" Obviously sony has paid them a fair amount to do this. At the end of the day whilst this annoying, you can't really expect a publisher to say no to up front cash for a messily extra hour of content. Especially since assassins creed game generally has around 20 hours content, if you don't play through particularly fast.

God I hate it when publishers do this yeah you mite be making more money from it but your punishing all the fans who have bought an played the last 4 titles on the Xbox, no doubt the wiiU version will get exclusives too and I bet Xbox will get 1st serve of DLC but it's not same when PS3 players get extra game for the same price. If a game is on all consoles I will always revert to Xbox as my default ps3 only gets there exclusives from me.

Yeah, not expecting much more. But even though I'm getting this on PS3, because I've had all the others on PS3, I'd agree that exclusive content deals are annoying.

I wouldn't worry about it. If they can give it a time, it's because most of it is cut-scene. At best it will be one assassination, at worst it will be an hour of exposition.

I don't understand why publishers are signing deals like this - it totally throws consumerism out the window.

I'm a massive fan of the Assassin's Creed franchise and would love some extra content... i shouldn't be penalised just for preferring one console (Xbox) over another... if this is true that is.
