Espionage RPG moved into the 'best commercial release window'.
SEGA has confirmed that the Obsidian Entertainment developed espionage RPG Alpha Protocol has been held back from its previously planned late 2009 release. The game is now scheduled to arrive in stores next spring.
"Alpha Protocol is a new take on the RPG genre and from day one the team has been working to make Alpha Protocol a truly unique game for players to experience," said Feargus Urquhart, CEO of Obsidian Entertainment. "We’re very happy that SEGA has made the decision to hold back the shipment of the game in order to give it the best chance at becoming the publishing success that we at Obsidian and our partners at SEGA are striving for."
Alan Pritchard, European Managing Director, SEGA Europe Ltd. added: "By pushing Alpha Protocol to Spring 2010, we can ensure that the game will be released in the best commercial release window possible and will also receive the focus this true AAA titles deserves."
Alpha Protocol is in development for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

GOD. DAMMIT. I've really had enough of games getting delayed til next year. I don't want to play anything that's out this year; I'll buy New Super Mario Bros Wii, but that's probably it. I was a bit unconvinced about the progress this game was making, so I'm sure this delay is for development purposes rather than running away from Modern Warfare 2.
